Murray STEM Club Extension - Connect Micro:bit & Scratch (2 sessions)
Event Information
About this Event
This two week STEM program gives participants a hands on experience with the micro:bits. These tiny circuit boards are designed to help young people learn to code and create with technology.
Participants will explore micro:bit hardware and learn how to connect them to the block-based visual programming language, Scratch. Over the two weeks, participants will build 2 projects that combine the magic of the digital and physical worlds.
Make it: Code it: Improve it.
Join us for an introduction to task-oriented coding, electronics hardware and digital technology skills delivered through fun and engaging projects.
Week 1 - Boom-Box project
Make your own sound machine using the micro:bit’s buttons & accelerometer and Scratch.
Week 2 - Hungry Dino project
Make a wireless game controller with your micro:bit and Scratch - and help feed tacos to your dinosaur!
Please note: You are registering to attend 2 sessions (18th and 25th March 2021).
For ages 9-13yr olds.
