Celebrate the many languages of Sydney!

Got something to say? Speak-up!

Who are you? Where do you come from? What do you believe in?

Perform poetry, share stories, croon lyrics, or just shout your creative ideas about identity, culture, community and do it in your own language!

Multilingual Poetry Slam is a collaboration between Word Travels and the City of Sydney celebrating Harmony Day and World Poetry Day.

Host Zohab Zee Khan (NSW Slam Champion 2012) will perform in both Urdu and English and collaborate with Mongolian Throat Singer, Bukhu.

Featuring multilingual performances by Lorna Munro (Wiradjuri) and Marie McMillan (Gaelic).

The event is free but performing writers must register and audiences must book. Register below!

Slam slots are 2 minutes long. You have a microphone and the freedom to express. A variety of prizes are up for grabs!

Group performances and original writing in all languages are encouraged. Judges are chosen from the audience on the day of the slam.
