Module 1 - Introductory Course @ $499

This is an introductory module designed to give you a good understanding of how to handle a modern sailing catamaran under sail and power. If you have some sailing experience, it will provide you with the increased confidence to charter a catamaran in places such as Sydney Harbour or the Whitsunday Islands or to take possession of your new Seawind. The course is designed to provide practical on-water tuition covering the basics you need to know to handle a cat of this size in sheltered or partially sheltered waters. Some sailing experience would be helpful but not necessary. A booklet indicating the syllabus and breakdown of issues is also provided so you can take relevant notes. A Certificate is also issued on completion indicating you have attended the course. This course is also recognised by some of the Charter Companies in the Whitsundays as evidence of an ability to handle a charter vessel.

Per person up to 8 participants

To be held in Sydney and selected coastal ports such as Southport, Morton Bay, Rosslyn Bay (Keppel Islands) or Airlie Beach (Whitsunday Islands).

Modules 2, 3 and 4 - Safe boat handling in sheltered and offshore waters and navigation @ $699 per person, per module

These are advanced training modules designed to improve your skills in handling and sailing a vessel in both sheltered and off-shore waters. Sailing experience and knowledge by undertaking Modules 1 or its equivalent is a basic requirement before undertaking these modules. The timing of these modules will vary depending on the location of the vessel and the requirements of the participants. The syllabus will be divided between in-shore and off-shore practice over the two modules to allow each participant plenty of time to understand and practice skills and become competent with each drill.

Navigation is an advanced training module designed to give you a good understanding of how to plan an off-shore passage and to undertake all the necessary navigational practices to keep you on track and arrive safely at your destination.

Up to 4 participants (minimum of two to proceed)

On board accommodation is available over the weekend @ $100 per person per night in addition to the basic cost. All participants are to supply their own food and drink and transport (flights) to and from the venue.

Module 5 - 3-4 days coastal package - $1650 per person

This is an advanced training module designed to give you a good understanding of how to undertake an off-shore passage and to practice all the necessary navigational, seamanship and sailing skills to keep you on track and arrive safely at your destination. The module concentrates on putting all the previously learned information together in a practical exercise of undertaking a coastal passage.
