Description

The "multicultural" childbirth and parenting education is for women and their partners from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The program is designed to orientate 'new Australian' women and their partners to Australian birthing practices at Westmead hospital.The class is facilitated by a childbirth educator who is familiar with the needs of CALD families and for whom, English is their second language.

This is an intensive one-day workshop held on a Saturday. The workshop commences at 9am and concludes at 3pm.

You will need to obtain a CODE from the Maternity Liaison Officer at Westmead Hospital to book into this program. When booking on the Eventbrite site you will be asked to enter the code.

It is recommended to book this workshop if you are due in January 2017

  • Birth Unit Tour. 

Topics are discussed briefly due to time restraints. However there is always time for questions.

 Optional Free Events

Cost of the Saturday Workshop also includes free registration to the Pre-natal Breastfeeding Workshop. The Prenatal Breastfeeding Workshop must be booked by selecting Bonus ticket after you select which breastfeeding workshop you wish to attend. You will be required to insert your Saturday workshop booking number to get the free registration.

The Saturday workshop will be held in the Seminar rooms of the Education and Conference Centre at Westmead Hospital (enter via the main entrance of the hospital).

Please be aware that you will be required to pay for parking if you choose to park within the hospital grounds.

Morning tea is included, however you are asked to bring or buy your own lunch. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, refreshments can be purchased Zouki’s café.

This program is an interactive workshop designed to enhance your birthing and early parenting experience.

Do I bring my partner along to all the classes with me?​
Partners are encouraged to attend. If your partner can't make it then you can bring along a support person.

What can/can't I bring to the event?
You may like to bring a snack. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.

 Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

No

What is the refund policy?

A full refund may be given only in the following circumstances:

•Premature birth 

•Hospital admission

•ƒCancellation request 3 weeks prior to the class commencement date 

An administration fee of $30 will be incurred on cancellation requests with less than 3 weeks’ notice

Private Health Fund rebates are available. A certificate is issued upon request.
