JOIN US. On this 3 day hiking adventure of the Snowy Mountains & the iconic Mt Kosciuszko, Australia's highest mountain.

EVENT ITINERARY:

DAY #1 ~ Perisher Valley hiking 5.7km ( moderate ) 2hrs

  • 12 noon: Arrive & check in to our lodge at Perisher Valley ( room allocation & unpack )

  • Once we have settled, we will head out on the first hike of our tour. This afternoons warm up hike to Porcupine Rocks, this hike follows rock creek before it steadily climbs through open woodland to around 1900m - the beginning of the alpine zone. as you get higher, wet health & apple mint bush give way to hardy snowgrass, snow gums & rock boulders. hiking through, yellow paper daisies, billy buttons, purple flowering heath we reach the granite outcrop on the ridge.

  • From here you can enjoy spectacular views to Thredbo River Valley, Bullocks Flat, Perisher & the Main Range.

  • Returning to our lodge, we enjoy an (optional) yoga balance session. Following this we settle in for pre - dinner drinks & nibbles, followed by a delicious dinner prepared by our guides.

  • MEALS: Dinner, Afternoon Tea, Nibbles ~ ( Lunch is supplied by you & own expense )

DAY #2 ~ Perisher / Thredbo hiking Main Range 22km ( hard ) 8 - 9 hrs

  • After a hearty breakfast & lunch making we depart for the showcase hike of our 3 day adventure.

  • Making our way by car to Charlotte's Pass we head out on this spectacular, long alpine track, to explore the highest peak in Australia Mt Kosciuszko.

  • Setting out, the track takes us through the glacier carved landscape of this protected UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, rock hopping & crossing the fabled Snowy River, we journey through alpine herb fields past Hedley Tarn Lookout, reaching the glacial Blue Lake at 1890m. Blue Lake is one of only four cirque lakes found on mainland Australia. The surrounding valley contains the best developed glacial features in the alpine area.

  • It's then a rugged continuing climb up Carruthers peak, offering spectacular views over the western slopes of the Main Range, passing through Rawsons Pass, winding our way around the mountain along the Summit Track to the very rooftop of Australia, Mt Kosciuszko at 2228m.

  • From here the track loops back towards Charlotte's Pass.

  • After our challenging day of hiking we return back to our accommodation, for a short yoga balance session to relax those tired muscles.

  • Following this, we freshen up & settle in for pre - dinner drinks & nibbles, followed by a delicious dinner prepared by our guides.

  • Relaxing for the night, enjoy yourself a well deserved Wellness Indulgent Pamper session

  • MEALS: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Morning, Afternoon Tea, Nibbles & Wine

DAY #3 ~ Perisher / Jindabyne hiking 5. 5 - 6km ( moderate ) 2hrs

  • Following an early dynamic stretch session, we have breakfast, pack morning tea & head out to the last hike of our trip.

  • Leaving our accommodation we make our way out down towards Jindabyne, to explore the Waterfall Walking Track. This morning hike is for recovery, after our steep climbs, beneficial to stretch out the legs before driving home.

  • Be blown away by the rugged beauty and diversity the Snowy Mountains is renowned for on this hike. Experience tall eucalypt forests, outcrops of hefty granite boulders, flowering & fruiting heathland, 90m alpine ash trees & of course the waterfall.

  • Lunch is in Jindabyne ( own expense )

  • MEALS: Breakfast & Morning Tea

What age is this event for?

  • Women 18yrs and over

What is the walking pace?

  • We will be hiking at a moderate pace, catering for everyone, being mindful of different fitness levels & efforts involved, not rushing to finish, taking care to respect each other. Hiking together, we believe in a group, is the same as being in a team, we make sure all hikers in our group are together keeping each other well supported & safe.

What happens if I wish to walk faster than the group?

  • We do understand that everyone walks at different paces, this is a moderate to hard walking pace hike at altitude in a very remote area. If you are walking faster & way ahead of the group you are missing out on what Lost & Found Wellness Adventures is all about; you are missing out on the enriching life experience with your group. If your guide can not see you, you are out of safe supervising range & in a remote area this is dangerous to the group of hikers. Unfortunately we can not take any responsibility for you. It is best to stay within range of our group.

Who is this hike suitable for?

  • This hike is suitable for those with reasonable fitness training (3 - 4 times a week )/ intermediate hiking experience ( at distances of 20km or more, with experience hiking, steep hills, stairs, single track & uneven surfaces). This hike is not suitable for beginners

What is the Grade?

  • This is a grade 4 hard hike due to distance, steep stairs, track steepness, altitude, single track & water crossings. not suitable or safe for beginners

What size backpack do I need?

  • Each person will carry only a day pack ( carrying your snacks, water & lunch & personal meds )

Can I use my VIP rewards voucher towards this event?

  • Rewards vouchers are not valid for this 3 day event

Is there any mobile phone reception?

  • There is no phone reception in the park when hiking. You may have unreliable reception at the lodge if you have 4G with Telstra ( not guaranteed )

Do I need any money?

  • Bring money with you for your lunch on day #1 & #2

Do I need to bring alcohol?

  • Wine is included with dinner & nibbles. We suggest not drinking too much on friday day #1 as you have a 22km hard 9 hr hike, and climbing at altitude the next morning.

  • If you have a special preference of wine or champagne, bring a bottle if you wish

What if I have dietary requirements?

  • No problem. we cater for vegan, keto, vegetarian & gluten free diets. Let us know once you have booked your ticket.

What happens if there is an emergency?

  • Your professional guide is trained in Wilderness first aid. Your guide will carry a first aid kit, have a PLB registered with emergency services & registration with Kosciuszko National Park Office. Our guides carry a topographic map with compass & are trained in wilderness navigation. Each guide is equipped with a 2 way radio & mobile phone will also be used if there is reception.

What is the type of accommodation?

  • Our ski lodge is shared accommodation. Most rooms have an ensuite bathroom.There is also another bathroom available. Our group will be sharing together.

Do I need to bring linen?

  • Pillows & Blankets are provided. You will need to bring your own pillow case & sheets or a sleeping bag, your own towel.

REFUND POLICY: T&C's apply

We provide a refund less $185 admin & permit fee up to 15 days before event, a refund of 50% of the amount will be given 7 - 15 days before event. There is no refund given with less than 7 days notice before event. This is due to catering, accommodation fees & permits which are non-refundable from our end. Your ticket however may be transferred to another person who wishes to join us.
