“LEAF” – New Tools for Assessment of Industrial By-products Re-use

How the application of LEAF tools can help Western Australian authorities and industry to assess the environmental impact of using waste-derived materials and by-products.

The LEAF tool kit is a collection of leaching tests, data management tools and assessments developed to identify detailed behaviours of a wide range of waste-derived materials, such as water treatment residues, tailings, gypsum and bottom ash. The information can be used to compare different application scenarios of by-products.
