Event description

Description

For many Australians, the 1992 novel Looking for Alibrandi is a piece of our cultural identity. Italian-Australian Josie Alibrandi wrestled with the usual teenage struggles but with a distinctly Aussie twist. Boy drama, the stress of the HSC, friendship dilemmas and the struggle of belonging in a multicultural Australia – this coming-of-age story inspired a generation. Mark the 25th anniversary of the release of this beloved book with a screening of the film adaptation, followed by a panel where three writers will discuss what this story has meant to them.

With: Giselle Au-Nhien Nguyen, Cass Fumi, Lisa Marie Corso
