Movember & Inspire9 Present: Mo Hacks 2017
Event Information
Description
What is Mo Hacks?
Voted one of the most innovative NFPs in Australia, the Movember Foundation champions innovation at a grassroots level to help stop men dying too young. We’re excited to launch our inaugural Mo Hacks in partnership with inspire9 to challenge the community to find new ways to improve men’s mental health and encourage the conversation now.
Teams of problem solvers, hustlers, designers, technologists and entrepreneurial thinkers will spend a day solving a problem to make a difference. Teams will combine skills in user research, ideation and rapid prototyping, with mentors from the Inspire9 and Movember community on-hand to help flesh out and present these ideas.
The challenge
Every minute a man dies by suicide.
We want to work towards a world where men take action to be mentally healthy and well and are supported during tough times, backed by their friends, family and community.
Men don’t engage with their health and wellbeing pre-crisis.
Your challenge is to develop a product that will get men engaging in their mental health and wellbeing.
What can I expect on the day?
- Form teams, get briefed on the problem statement and brainstorm a digital solution.
- Pick up some lean user experience design techniques from our mentors.
- Put your new-found UX skills into practice and design a lo-fi prototype.
- Demo your prototype and present your recommendations to the judges.
- Have fun while you’re doin’ good to change the face of men’s health.
