Event description
Live more sustainably by making small simple changes to your everyday routines. This creative 3hr workshop will show you how!

About this Event

Before Marie Kondo became an international phenomenon, there was the ancient Japanese philosophy of mottainai. Literally "what a waste!", this exclamation conveys a sense of deep regret, which we are urged to avoid by actively reducing rubbish, conserving resources and eliminating the throwaway mindset wherever possible.

If you want to learn how you can easily live greener and cheaper, come join us for a creative afternoon with artist and educator Munetaka Umehara. Together with his wife Gail, Umehara-san will guide you through some simple steps for applying mottainai and achieving everyday sustainability at home and at work. By the end of the 3hr workshop you will have practiced new ways to wrap gifts and transport items, plus you get to handcraft your own take-home journal, notebook and Christmas ornaments from upcycled material.

Book online now for only $20pp. Light refreshments and all materials provided.

Walk-ins subject to availability, $25pp cash only, no exceptions.
