A panel of industry leaders discuss how businesses can motivate their staff in 2021.
Throughout 2020, businesses and their staff faced challenges we they hadn’t dealt with before. This effected business processes, culture, motivation, wellbeing and performance. The panel of business leaders will discuss how to motivate and mange staff effectively, taking into consideration remote working, intergenerational challenges, a new focus on wellbeing, and the ever-competitive business environment.
Panel MC:
David Shillington, CEO of Wellbeing Code, Former QLD Maroon and Captain of the Canberra Raiders in the NRL.
Panelists:
1. Glen Morrison MBA
Glen is a Registered Paramedic and works in a senior leadership role within the Queensland Ambulance Service. In addition Glen holds a number of Board appointments with St John Ambulance Queensland, QAS Legacy Scheme and the Kenneth James McPherson Education and Research Foundation.
2. Jane Shand
Her current role as Chief Human Resources Manager involves designing the people, performance and culture function at Queensland Rugby League as the organisation undergoes a transformational change program to build leadership & excellence on and off the field. In 2017 Jane was awarded the prestigious ‘Australian HR Manager of the Year Award’ and in 2019 was a Finalist in the Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards. In 2019, QRL was nationally recognised for industry-leading change in the area of Human Resources achieving a Finalist Award the Australian Human Resources Institute.
3. Simon Black
Simon is a 3-time premiership winning AFL player from the Brisbane Lions. As a former captain of his club, who was awarded both the Norm Smith medal and the Brownlow medal, he knows how to motivate teams to win and keep winning. He now successfully runs the Simon Black Australian Rules Academy, and is holds an assistant coach role at the Brisbane Lions.
