Event description

Description

Would you like to help older people understand the importance of choosing the right person as their power of attorney and of making their wishes known? Then come along to this interesting and vibrant workshop hosted by the Peninsula Care Planning Group and the Office of the Public Advocate!

You will be able to spread the messages from this training to help protect older people from harm.

This two hour workshop will train you to engage with seniors about what they need to consider before appointing a power of attorney.

The Commissioner for Senior Victorians, Mr Gerard Mansour, in collaboration with the Office of the Public Advocate and funded by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, developed the booklet ‘Your voice – trust your choice’. The booklet provides tips for seniors making enduring powers of attorney with a particular aim of reducing the risk of elder abuse.

This workshop continues the work of that collaboration with a focus on the Mornington Peninsula Region of Melbourne.

Please advise of any support needs or other requirements.
