Event description

Description

DISCOVER WHAT OLD TESTAMENT STORIES SAY TO WOMEN TODAY

The Old Testament is full of strange and complicated stories, and parts that we tend to skip over in our Bible reading because they seem too difficult to understand. How could these parts of the Bible – often involving women – possibly be relevant to our 21st century lives? Mary J. Evans will explore some difficult stories of the Old Testament involving women, and show us that they can be understood and applied to our lives today.

Join past and present MAC students and other Christian women, as we meet to learn from Mary as she opens God's word.

GUEST LECTURER

Mary J. Evans is a visiting lecturer in Old Testament and former academic dean at the Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology, Addis Ababa, and a former lecturer at the London School of Theology. She is the author of The Message of Samuel and Women in the Bible, and she is a coeditor of The IVP Women’s Bible Commentary.
