Event description

Description

Role of the Adult in a child's life is crucial to their development. The adult's behavior, attitude, and the reaction can have a significant effect on a child.

In a Montessori classroom educators are called Guides and Directors. Is it possible at home you wonder to be a guide? Come along and find out how you can be both parent and guide to your child/ren at home and supporting them whilst they are in or soon to be in a Montessori environment.

Philippa Alford

I began my journey with Montessori back in the late 1970's. Whilst training to be a preschool teacher, I was sure there was another approach to educating children and I found Montessori. Since then I have worked continuously with the philosophy and materials of Montessori education. My daughter is now 27 years old and experienced Montessori from birth to 12 years of age. I have had the privilege of working with children from birth to 12 and their families, supporting both in their quest to have quality self directed and guided education. Since working in preschools, primary schools and long day care environments I realise how families are unsure of their role in supporting the Montessori education their children are experiencing. This lead me to create a business Parenting Independent Preschoolers: parentingindependentpreschoolers.com.au.
