Event description

Description

Come for a very special Honey night! It’s time to get a little festive!

We have special guests from Macquarie Mark Taylor and his PhD Student Xioateng highlights from Macquarie University. They will present their recent research into bees, honey and environmental contamination in urban environments.

We will also learn how to make bees wax candles (the non-messy way), food wraps with cloth and beeswax* (great gift items), and taste fellow Club members’ honey and other honey-containing delectables!

BRING YOUR HONEY to share :)

We look forward to seeing you on this exceptional night!

----------------------------------------------------

*Waxed cloth wraps can be reused for up to six months and are water-resistant as well. You can use the food wrap to cover bowls and plates, wrap sandwiches or blocks of cheese, and you can even mould it to shape using the warmth of your hands. If wraps get soiled, simply hand-wash it in cold water and allow it to air dry. If a wrap starts to lose its grip over time, simply repeat the process to re-wax it, and it will be good as new.

Waxed cloth is washable, reusable and compostable. Club member, Christine Underhill, will give a demonstration on how to make these cloths using your own beeswax!

Parking in basement beneath or very close to Bondi Junction train station. Also reasonable on-street parking nearby.

Members are free.

Non-members can pay $5 at the door.
