Panel discussion: the future of work in the age of disruption

Technological change, automation and AI, digitalisation, new business models, smart machines, the Internet of Things, blockchain… existing businesses and entire sectors are being disrupted, the average lifespan of companies on the S&P has already shrunk from 35 years in 1980 to 18 years today, professions are being reconfigured or in danger of disappearing altogether. In Australia 40 per cent of current jobs are considered at high risk of automation. At the same time, technology creates new opportunities, accelerates innovation and lowers the barriers to entrepreneurship. Everyone seems to have a hustle project, growth hack, start-up or an idea for one. Is entrepreneurship the answer? Is rapid innovation and agility really the new imperative for organisations and individuals? What businesses will survive, and what new businesses will prosper?

Come to this exciting and interactive panel discussion to hear from some of our most distinguished alumni as they reflect on these issues and learn how to prepare and position yourself and your organisation for the future.
