Dr Paulo Alves - Clinical Nurse Speacialist - Tissue Viability, Bay of Plenty DHB

He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Health Sciences Institute – Porto, at the Catholic University of Portugal. His research interests are the aetiology of the development of pressure injuries, the development of intelligent support surfaces, development of new wound dressings and treatments and the influence of repositioning. Paulo has published articles in national and international journals, many of them on chronic wounds. He is a member of several wound care societies, the Wound Management Portuguese Association – APTFeridas, the European Wound Management Association – EWMA and Sociedad IberolatinoAmericana de ulceras y heridas - SILAUHE. He has been an invited Speaker and Chairman in numerous national and international conferences and has also organised several national and international scientific congresses and meetings on wound care.

Sue Templeton - Nurse Practitioner Wound Management - Royal District Nursing Service

Sue works in Adelaide as a community-based Nurse Practitioner in Wound Management. Sue has worked in wound management since 1987 and has extensive clinical experience managing persons with a variety of acute and chronic wounds. Sue provides clinical consultancy services, develops and delivers wound management education, and is involved in the development of wound management tools, policies, and procedures. Sue has been actively involved with Wounds Australia at a national and local level for a number of years. Sue has undertaken clinical research and published and presented locally, nationally, and internationally. Sue has been involved in the development of several national and international guidelines and has been active in state and national committees. Sue is passionate about improving the lives of persons with a wound and empowering others to deliver best practices in wound management.

Sharron Cassidy - Clinical Nurse Specialist - Christchurch DHB & Founder - SOS Nursing

Sharon is a Registered Nurse in Christchurch with nearly 40 years of experience in surgical nursing. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in several wound care roles and is the founder of SOS Nursing, a community wound care nursing service. Sharon is a member of many professional groups and is the Canterbury Coordinator of the New Zealand Wound Care Society. Sharon was the recipient of two prestigious nursing awards from the New Zealand Nurses Organisation.
