About this Event
The regular workshops will help participants develop their skills as poets and gain an understanding of modern poetry.
About the presenter
Kai has many years’ experience organising poetry groups and performing live poetry, including a second place at the Melbourne poetry slam competitionKai holds a PhD in English from the University of Auckland, has tutored in literature subjects at the University of Auckland and taught an introductory subject on New Zealand poetry at the University of Waikato. He is an editor accredited by the Institute of Professional Editors, and works as a professional editor. Workshops will run every fortnight on Thursdays from 2.30pm - 4.30pm

• Due to Covid-19 restrictions, you must book a place for each member of your party. This includes children and their parents/carers but excludes children under 12 months of age, in arms/stroller.
• If you or your child is sick or experiencing flu like symptoms, please do not attend, as you could endanger all Library visitors.
• All visitors to the library must sign in on arrival
• Hand sanitizers must be used upon entry.
• Social distancing guidelines of 1.5m must be respected. Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring their children adhere to these guidelines.
Library events are often filmed or photographed for promotional purposes. Images may be used on the libraries or councils social media pages or by newspapers. If you do not wish your image (or the image of your child) to be published, please notify staff before the event.
