Description

Food, glorious food

Woman with basket of apples

Save the world one dish at a time.

Are you interested in generating collaborative human-centred design solutions to address the wicked problems plaguing Melbourne’s food system?

Did you know that in Victoria, one in four adults are now obese and only 1 in 20 adults meet both the fruit and vegetable dietary guidelines?

Melbourne's food bowl supplies over 40% of all fresh fruit and veg to the city, but that's set to plummet to just 18% by 2050 due to urban sprawl and population growth.

If you are concerned about the future of Melbourne’s food security and value the power of innovative collaboration, join forces with other curious minds for a 4-hour design sprint workshop lead by Sustain: the Australian Food Network, in partnership with William Angliss Institute and Cardinia Shire Council and facilitated by Rocket Seeder – a start-up accelerator for AgTech and FoodTech innovation.

  • Learn how to use human-centred design tools to generate ideas and explore solutions
  • Network with other creative minds and develop ongoing collaborative relationships
  • Hear from the innovators behind some of Melbourne’s leading social enterprises revolutionising the local foodscape, including Youth Food Movement and Kinfolk Enterprises (providing a locally sources buffet lunch)
  • Discover the secrets of multi-species design through collaborating with microbes, in discussion with Sharon Flynn from The Fermentary

[Please note this event is wheelchair accessible]
