#MKW17 - First Nations creating YIRRAMBOI (tomorrow)
Sat. 6 May 2017, 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm AEST
First Nations creating YIRRAMBOI (tomorrow)
YIRRAMBOI means 'tomorrow' in the shared languages of the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nations.
Join artist, curator and cultural producer powerhouse Paola Balla as she asks Australian and international guests: what happens when First Nations artists create works for First Nations audiences, and how will this will make our tomorrow more powerful?
This will be an energising conversation, exploring the role of Indigenous leadership in generating creative autonomy, reinvigorating artistic practice, and Melbourne’s position as a global hub for First Nations arts.
This event is proudly presented by Kalinya Communications and the City of Melbourne, in partnership with YIRRAMBOI - First Nations Arts Festival.
[Please note this event is wheelchair accessible]
