Date: Saturday, 14 August

Time: 3-6pm

Venue: Ainslie Arts Centre

This event is autonomous for people who are both Queer, Transgender and/or Intersex AND Bla(c)k, Indigenous and/or People of Colour (QTIBIPOC).

Image Description

“DEiFY Presents: Mix + Match”

The background is a warm orange, a red couch is at the centre of the image. From left of the couch there’s a person sitting on the ground in a bright purple tracksuit with cropped white hair, their eyes closed and mouth open with tā moko on their chin and lips; a person standing behind them wearing a long red t-shirt and red headphones, their lilac hair is in low pigtails and they are speaking to the person seated on the couch next to them. This person has blue cropped hair and is wearing a pink sweater and a long blue skirt with their white crutch leaning on their knees, their face obscured as they face the person standing next to them; sitting on the floor next to them is someone wearing a white hijab, long pink t-shirt dress with white long sleeves poking out, looking at the person lying down on the right. Lying down on their stomach with their legs dangling is someone with brown cropped hair and a blue t-shirt and long pants. Behind these two is someone sitting on the couch in a purple hoodie and matching pants, this person has white cropped hair and is looking to the people to the right; the next person on the right is sitting in a purple sweater and skirt with purple heart-shaped glasses with long curly black hair; in between these two is someone behind the couch with their forearms reaching over the back, this person wears their blue hair in two buns on top of their head and is looking down. Sitting on the arm of the couch on the right is a person in a pink sweater and pants, this person is bald and looking to the person standing to the right; this person on the right of the couch is standing next to the couch in blue jeans and a blue sweater, their ear-length hair black and in very tight curls, looking towards the person in pink in conversation.

An ACT government logo is in the right bottom corner stating “Sponsored by ACT Government”

DEiFY is based on unceded Ngunnawal, Ngunawal and Ngambri country. As we come together with a common goal of building anti-racist queer spaces, settlers must recognise how they benefit from stolen Indigenous land, kinship and culture. We must create space and honour the strength and blueprint laid by queer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Always was, always will be.
