Event description

Description

Meet the influential, entrepreneurial and innovative leaders in food and drink.

Join us to celebrate all that’s great about women in the consumer, food and beverage industry with an informal evening of networking and inspiring conversation.

What better opportunity to bring together the producers, artisans, and creatives to rub shoulders alongside industry decision makers ordinarily out of reach.

  • Be inspired by Females in Food founder Chelsea Ford and hear about why now is the most exciting time to be a woman in food and drink.

  • Hear first-hand insider insights from industry influencer Rebecca Rees on how category management, in store promotions and large supermarket chain decisions actually happen.

  • Get together with your Females in Food community friends, new industry connections and chill out with a vino or two and delicious canapes whilst taking in the view of Southbank.

This is already proving to be a popular event, so get your ticket now.

We'd like to thank our Event Partner Slade Group.

About your hosts and speakers:

Females in Food:

Females in Food is a powerful and influential collective of female food and beverage artisans, innovators, business leaders and entrepreneurs. A community dedicated to empowering women in the food and beverage industry. Females in Food provides opportunities and resources to make it easier for women to grow their profile, their career and their business.

Chelsea Ford:

Chelsea Ford is a highly regarded growth strategist, coach and facilitator.

Chelsea has over 20 years of senior executive experience in dynamic organisations including Kellogg, Nestle, Spotless, Douwe Egberts and Dyson.

Throughout the past five years she has been admired and awarded for her entrepreneurial success as an effective coach and mentor to enterprises large and small, and to leaders making a difference. In 2017 Chelsea was recognised for her entrepreneurial success by being named as a Top 50 Small Business Leader by Inside Small Business Magazine.

Chelsea is also the founder of online platform Females in Food, a community that inspires, connects and educates women in the broad reaching food and beverage, health, hospitality and tourism industries to help them grow their business, their profile and their confidence.

Chelsea advocates for purpose based business objectives and conscious capitalism. She also advocates for increasing candour at the Boardroom table, citing diversity as a key driver.

Chelsea is driven by the alarming fact that 40% of single Australian women retire in poverty [Australian Industry Super] and less than 3.1% of venture capital funding is provided to women led startups, despite female entrepreneurs starting companies at twice the rate as male entrepreneurs [Inc.com].

A key attribute to Chelsea’s counsel is her encouragement of women to 'lean in' and for people to understand their unconscious bias.

Chelsea holds a Master of Applied Social Science (Management) and a Bachelor of Arts.
