Do you want to learn about Mitchell's COVID-19 Recovery and the opportunities available?

Would you like to contribute to the Mitchell Shire 2050 Community Vision?

This workshop will present the Mitchell Shire Community Recovery Plan and the opportunities available to bring the plan to life. Thinking beyond recovery, your contribution to the 2050 Community Vision is an opportunity to describe and help design what Mitchell Shire will look, feel and be like from now until 2050.

The Community Recovery Plan will:

  • Present the impacts of COVID-19 and an analysis of these impacts
  • Present the priority areas for supporting the community recovery. These priority areas include a list of initiatives that can be used to support the activities and planning of community, organisations, local government and others wanting to contribute to the community’s recovery from COVID-19.

Council’s approach to Community Recovery is a commitment to empower those who have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19 in a community-led recovery process.

The 2050 Community Vision will:

  • Ensure that our community’s priorities and aspirations for the future are considered in Council’s strategic planning and decision making processes
  • Help to shape the strategic priorities and directions in the four-year Council Plan
  • Ensure Council continues to work towards the same overarching vision with our existing partnerships with organisations and sectors in the community, such as not-for-profits, service organisations and local businesses.
