Description

Girl Geek Academy welcomes primary school teachers to join us for #MissMakesCode Teacher training. Learn how to make your own game using code, just as your students would, followed by practical examples and resources to roll the program out in your school.

Why Participate?

Girl Geek Academy ensure solid pedagogical approaches are used, #MissMakesCode aligns with the Digital Technologies Curriculum and meets the achievement standard for Foundation to Year 2.

The program consists of explicit teaching activities for visible thinking, problem solving and GUI design so that young girls are able to work in a variety of computational ways to solve problems and create apps/games via coding.

The program also aims to be fun and engaging when delivered by trained teachers who can utilise iPad Apps to teach and hone this skill set.

Participants will need to bring their own iPad or laptop, along with a charger.

Catering will be provided on the day, should you have any dietary requirements please contact Helen schools@girlgeekacademy.com by close of business Monday 20th November.

Open to teachers of young girls between the ages of 5 and 8.

STEM.I.AM is about encouraging Indigenous youth to start coding, creating and innovating, as an important building block to their future. It celebrates their journey as Australia’s next generation of talented computer scientists and software engineers—the ‘black and deadly’ super geeks and nerds that will create tomorrow’s world turn through foundations laid today.
