Program Concept
Whilst Australian businesses are very good at solving day to day problems, they often struggle to increase profitability, build brand value and grow sustainability in a new global marketplace.
The Mission: Impossible program is a new program and was created for two reasons:
- To introduce the practice of design-led innovation to food and agribusinesses as a tool to develop business operations to attract new and future customers;
- To facilitate collaboration between businesses and experts (including reseaarchers) within the Australian Agri-food sector, with the single focus of supporting innovation for higher value products and services.
The most successful businesses in the world have strong links to research organisations and collaboration within their supply chains. These businesses also actively review their customers’ needs, identify new customers and continually provide new and different offers to target customer groups. In Australia, innovative active businesses are twice as productive and have 40% greater profitability than non-innovation active businesses (ABS, 2016).
