Mini Mariners
Explore the galleries, make music and dance in interactive tours with costumed guides. Enjoy creative free play, craft, games and story time in our themed activity area.
For ages 2-5 years plus Carers
To ensure safe distancing our tours have been reduced to half the usual capacity and additional hygiene measures are in place.
Upcoming Themes:
November - Alphabet Animals (Tuesdays 3, 10, 17, 24 & Saturday 14)
A is for anemone, Z is for Zebrafish. Take a journey through the zoo-phonic alphabet of all things furry, feathered and finned as we spot amazing animal specimens and objects in the museum. Enjoy touch tours with creature specimens, movement, music, games, craft and free play in our themed activity space. Make your own animal puppet or hat to take home.
January - Silly Sea Creatures (Tuesday 12, 19, Saturday 16, 23 January )
Explore amazing creatures that live under the sea through movement, songs and storytime in a fun and interactive learning program especially designed for toddlers. Afterwards head to the activity space for crafts and messy play.
February- Drip Drop Splash (Tuesday 2, 9, 16, 23 & Saturday 13 )
Swish, Bubble, Splash and Dive into the wonderful world of water in a character guided through the museum galleries. Discover stories about water and how we use it every day. Sing songs, enjoy messy play activities and make your own bubble painting to take home.
March - Pirates Ahoy (Tuesday 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 & Saturday 13 )
Let's follow the treasure map around the museum to find the secret treasure cave. Learn how to sing, dance and scrub the deck like a pirate. Then you can decorate your own pirate hat or parrot puppet to take home and enjoy some special pirate science experiments.
