Description

THE IMPORTANT STUFF KIDS WANT TO KNOW

Book your kids (Ages 7 - 13 years) into a session that will leave them feeling good about being in control of their minds. Your kids will have active fun, use colour and photographic art to lead themselves towards wellbeing, through mindfulness. They will be mindset warriors! This school holiday activity will give you and your children new skills to use at home. There is active fun here too so hopefully we use up some of their energy and creativity.

THE IMPORTANT STUFF PARENTS WANT TO KNOW

Mindfulness is a practice that has been developed over thousands of years, and has been influenced by a number of philosophical and other practices and beliefs. More recently it has been commercialised and used across a range of areas, from mental health and wellbeing, to political influence, and it is a powerful tool that can be used to build self-awareness.

Although influenced through mediation practices, mindfulness is not just about relaxation and focusing thoughts, it introduces the concept of being able to observe, acknowledge and reframe thoughts, emotions and behaviours.

There are many activities of Mindfulness for young people that can be implemented to improve their social interaction and overall wellbeing. Teaching young people this skill early will contribute to increasing the capacity for them to become self-aware and to understand their thoughts, emotions and patterns of behaviours early. This early intervention can assist in reducing the impacts of anxiety and worry that some young people experience in these early days and develop positive tools to use when things are tough. This builds resilience, strengthening these young people and their families.

  • Parents are welcome to stay and learn more too, free take home mindfulness resources will be available to parents.
  • Activity Packs can be purchased to take home to continue the fun $25.00 (participant discount price).
  • Recommended for ages 7 years - 13 years.
  • Sessions are 1 hour, however parents are welcome to arrange further discussions at end of session.
