During the training program you will be introduced to 16 practical tools to soothe, to calm as well as strategies to promote emotional strength, resilience, flexibility, acceptance and positive motivation that you can practice in your daily life and teach your clients. It is revolutionizing self-care and emotional coping skills in behavioural medicine and psychology. Mindful Self-Compassion is a new skill building training program to cultivate inner strengths. It is a way to courageously attend to inner difficulties with understanding and kindness to empower the self. Developing self-compassion is to acquire an attitude of good-will towards the self and to be able to skillfully attend to the self when times are tough in order to resolve challenges.
Mindfulness and Self-Compassion is not sainthood, self-indulgence, narcissism or self-pity but a new way to relate to shame, anger, anxiety and distress by reconnecting with the self and others in order to ease pain and gain greater emotional strength, resilience and well-being. Training in the practice of self-compassion can create dramatic changes for the better in all aspects. Mindful Self-Compassion teaches how to be aware in the present moment of difficult feelings (mindfulness), to by-pass negative thinking bias or default mode to respond more effectively. Mindful Self-Compassion teaches practices to attend to the self in the difficult moments with kindness, understanding and resilience.
The 2-Day Mindfulness and Self-Compassion workshop is an introduction to the empirically-supported, 5-day workshop or 8-weekly training course designed to cultivate the skill of mindfulness and self-compassion. This 2-Day training workshop consist of the first two days of the Mindful Self-Compassion 5-day program co-created by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer following many years of research and clinical experience with mindfulness. It includes various up to date practices and evidenced-based concepts found in other well known mindfulness-based programs and from the science of well-being and positive psychology.
Participation in the Mindful Self-Compassion training program has been extraordinary; thousands of professionals have attended similar workshops in Australia, America and Europe since 2013. Mindful Self-Compassion was developed by Christopher K. Germer, leader in the integration of compassion and psychotherapy and Kristin Neff, pioneering researcher in the field of self-compassion. In this one program, they have successfully integrated concepts and practices from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy(ACT), Compassionate mind training + Compassion-Focused Therapy(CFT) and Cognitive Therapy(CBT) as well as Positive Psychology.
