Compassion is the essence of Mindfulness and the bedrock of emotional healing.

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an outstanding didactic and experiential training workshop where you learn the powerful practices of Mindfulness and Self-Compassion from inside out: that is by applying Mindful Self-Compassion in your life, you can better use it in your professional work for more effective engagement and intervention.

In this training workshop you will be presented with new evidence-based strategies to manage stress, anxiety, depression, pain and other conditions but as well you will be introduced to new powerful micro self-care practices. The aim of the workshops is two-fold: firstly, to enhance professional skills and secondly, to apply self-care practices so that at the end of the workshop you feel refreshed and revitalised.

Mindfulness increases our ability to deal with the inevitable stresses and struggles with more calm. When we add Self-Compassion to Mindfulness we greatly increase the power of transformation and capacity for happiness. Mindful Self-Compassion is about being present with connection and warmth during times of pain and struggles.

During the training program you will be introduced to 30 powerful tools to soothe, to calm as well as strategies to promote emotional strength, resilience, flexibility, acceptance and positive motivation that you can practice in your daily life and teach your clients. Mindful Self-Compassion is about learning to ease difficult emotions, care for others compassionately, to be more fully ourselves in our roles. It has changed the life of many professionals as well as their clients.

As professionals, we know the power of compassion. We use it everyday, when we care for others. It contains what we all yearn for… feelings of acceptance, comfort, kindness and love. But what would happens if we turn this power onto ourselves? Mindful Self-compassion(MSC) is a brave new way to care for ourselves that is uplifting and empowering. The training program consist of easy, simple ways to soothe and calm in times of stress while increasing the ability to resolve challenges and to enjoy life. Once we can learn those skills for ourselves we can teach them effectively to others. Everyone will benefit!

Self-compassion transforms lives. It is re-defined as the ability to care, to soothe and to comfort but also to strengthen when it is needed. It is revolutionizing self-care and emotional coping skills in psychology. Mindful Self-Compassion is a new skill building program to harness the power to cultivate inner strengths; to courageously attend to difficulties with understanding and kindness to empower the self. Developing self-compassion is to acquire an attitude of good-will towards the self and to be able to skillfully attend to the self when times are tough in order to resolve challenges.

Mindfulness and Self-Compassion is not sainthood, self-indulgence, narcissism or self-pity but a new way to relate to shame, anger, anxiety and distress by reconnecting with the self and others in order to ease pain and gain greater emotional strength, resilience and well-being. The practice of self-compassion can create dramatic changes for the better in all aspects. Mindful Self-Compassion teaches how to be aware in the present moment when difficult feelings arise(mindfulness) an how to by-pass our negative thinking bias or default mode to respond more effectively.

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported, new training program designed to cultivate the skill of mindfulness, meditation and self-compassion based on the groundbreaking research of Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer. It includes the latest techniques from the science of well-being and positive psychology. Mindful Self-Compassion teaches practices, to respond to difficult moments with kindness, understanding and resilience.

Participation in this program has been extraordinary; thousands of professionals have attended similar workshops in Australia, America and Europe since 2013. Mindful Self-Compassion was developed by Christopher K. Germer, leader in the integration of compassion and psychotherapy and Kristin Neff, pioneering researcher in the field of self-compassion. In this one training program, they have successfully integrated concepts and practices from various based mindfulness models such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction(MBSR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy(MBCT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy(DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy(ACT), Compassionate mind training, Compassion-Focused Therapy(CFT) and Cognitive Therapy(CBT) as well as Positive Psychology.

This training course was designed for everyone but is very popular with professionals who value and wish to integrate mindfulness and self-compassion into their work. This Mindful Self-Compassion program is endorsed by the Australian Association of Social Workers(AASW) and promoted on the Australian Psychological Society(APS) on the calendar of events.

Mindful Self-Compassion can be learned by anyone. Self-compassion is a courageous attitude that stands up to harm, including the harm that we unwittingly inflict on ourselves through self-criticism, self-isolation, and self-absorption. It promotes social and emotional intelligence, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, motivate ourselves with self-kindness, practice self-forgiveness when needed as well as relate wholeheartedly to others and be more authentically ourselves.

Research findings over the last 30 years support the benefits of the practice of mindfulness, meditation and self-compassion promoting better health, well-being, satisfying relationships and higher functioning at home and in the work place. More specifically it:
- Increases resilience to stress, fostering emotional strengths and flexibility
- Promotes emotional regulation, relaxation and calm
- Activates brain circuits to promote well-being, confidence, problem-solving and creativity
- Reduces risk of illness by boosting the positive effects of the vagus nerve and strengthening the immune system
