Mind The Gap Party - Day Activities
Event Information
About this Event
From 12pm to 5pm, contributors to issue 13 Mind the Gap will bring to life their work through a series of activities and workshops.
Award-winning Illustrator Sarah Firth invites people of all ages to imagine their dream home. Visitors can plant seasonal herb and vegetable seeds with Kevin Heinze Grow to take home and learn about the therapeutic benefits of gardening. Stay tuned for the full program coming on the 5th March.
The issue Mind the Gap brings together thinkers and doers, storytellers and engagers, to consider how together our civic actions, big or small, fill the gaps when our systems splutter. From empowering youth in Kaikohe, Aotearoa New Zealand through the design process, to Melbourne’s outdoor markets supporting those impacted by food insecurity during COVID-19, the issue paints a bright portrait of resilient and strong community spirit.
With support from local brewers Sample Brew and creative studio Boom Studios.
The whole party, activities, workshops plus food and beverages are free, but we are asking for a $5.00 donation on the door to support a charity close to our heart, Kevin Heinze Grow. As a unique community service organisation and charity, Kevin Heinze Grow is a leader in the delivery of therapeutic horticulture programs for people of all ages and abilities. Their work revolves around two beautiful garden centres in Melbourne’s Doncaster and Coburg. Read more about them here.
