Event description

Description

Join the experienced Silkroads Chinese calligraphy instructor, Choi, to try this ancient art form – no expectations, no pressure, just time to relax and enjoy some arty time out.

Chinese Calligraphy is both a form of writing and artistic expression that can be traced back to the Shang dynasty of 1100BC. The flowing form of calligraphy is achieved through use of special brushes and ink on paper or silk. Expert tuition is given and then you have time to experiment with this ancient art form, while the instructor assists as needed.

Tuition is free.

Brushes, ink and paper supplied for $5 per person paid on the day.

Entrance to the Library Function Room is via the main Manning Library entrance.

Undercover parking is available in the basement off Bradshaw Crescent.

In the interests of sustainable living, please BYO mug and/or water bottle.
