Event description
Hear Mina, co-founder of :Different and employee #20 at Uber, discuss how she builds real, human experiences in a digital world.

About this Event

Who is this talk for?

This is for entrepreneurs, product managers, designers, marketers, engineers, or anyone who feels the desire to create human and humane experiences whilst scaling their product/business/offering.

The talk

As technology increasingly becomes more integrated into our lives, the companies of the future are going to be the ones that meld human relationships with technology. AI might one day change our relationships with computers, but today, we still need people to negotiate, empathise and sympathise in our daily interactions. How do we build systems that work well with real relationships? And how do we scale our technology communications so that they still feel human?

:Different is reimagining property management: an industry crying out for change. Due to the nature of the business, when it comes to people's homes, the human touch will always be paramount. Mina dives into how :Different has worked to strike the right balance between tech and human to ensure the company pushes forward, whilst keeping customers happy.

The speaker

Mina is the co-founder of :Different property management, a tech startup servicing Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

She’s currently a board advisor at AirTasker and has been actively involved with mentoring and advising teams on product questions big and small as a Product Managements advisor at Cowboy Ventures, multiple startups, and as a mentor at 500 Startups.

Prior to starting different, she was an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Redpoint Ventures. Before that, Mina was the global Head of Product at Uber, having started as employee #20 when the UI was still a big green button. Previous stints include ModCloth and Google, and Goldman Sachs. When not working, you'll probably find her exploring Sydney, practicing yoga, or tweeting on @minarad.
