Date and time
Description
This event is part of the week-long Everyday Militarisms Collaboratory.
“Tasting History Launch” – Lindsay Kelley
Participate in the launch of the Tasting History project, a three year long investigation of how ration cultures inform contemporary eating practices. The tasting will include the project’s three case study foods: Anzac biscuits, hardtack, and fry bread.
Lindsay Kelley’s art practice and scholarship explore how the experience of eating changes when technologies are being eaten. Kelley is currently undertaking a project about biscuits called ‘Tasting History,’ funded by an Australia Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award.
“Rehearsals for Descent 3:3” – Katja Aglert
This is the third of three steps in the “Rehearsals for Descents” sessions. The first step will be presented as part of a closed event on Wednesday, 24 April. The second step will be presented as part of the “Hidden in Plain Sight” walkshop event on Thursday, 25 April.
In this final part of the three steps Rehearsals for Descent sessions, Katja Aglert will share the experiences of the process – so far – in some form of performance including video and sound.
Katja Aglert is an independent artist and researcher whose practice – situated in feminist, more-than-human imaginaries – is transdisciplinary in nature, and includes both individual and collaborative projects.
Presenters: Lindsay Kelley, Katja Aglert, Anja Kanngieser
