Migrant Stories: Celebrating women's journeys
Sat. 25 March 2017, 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm AEDT
Initiatives for Women in Need (IWIN) presents an event to celebrate the migrant journey – using storytelling and the arts.
During this event, some remarkable women tell their stories and their journeys - the struggles they have faced and experiences they have lived through to be in the successful positions that they are now.
This will be followed by a dance performed by some of the children in our community, a fashion show that showcases the living arts of migrants in ACT (displaying jewellery and clothing that is reminiscent of those cultures).
s always, there will be a chance to network and chat over refreshments at the end of the event. We hope that this event will help you celebrate the Australian multi-cultural identity, meet some wonderful women as speakers and in the audience, and give you some different perspectives to consider.
