Event description

Description

The RCH is proud to be marching in the Midsumma Pride March to support our LGBTQI+ community, employees, patients, and families.

In 2017, Gender Service marched for the first time, but in 2018 we’re marching as a whole organisation – If you would like to join us, click here to express your interest now.

This is a wonderful time to show our support, and walk together in celebration of the gains that have been made in the last 12 months.

Not only was the same sex marriage bill passed, but our colleague Elise McDonald (NUM Platypus) and former RCH employee Amy McDonald were the first Victorian same sex couple to wed!

Dr Michelle Telfer won Global Ally of the Year; one of our patients, Georgie Stone, was named Young Australian of the Year; and the RCH Gender Service was involved in supporting the landmark court case allowing transgender teens to access hormone therapy without a court order.

Our Campus Partners, MCRI, wrote a widely published article: The Kids are OK; and we launched our own Campus wide LGBTQI+ working group.

There is so much to celebrate – so come march with us!
