Event description

Midsumma Pride March
is the second of our signature events where over 7,400 machers take to the streets down Fitzroy Street in St Kilda each year. Oer 45,000 people line the streets and balconies along the march route to show their support – making this the best-attended Pride March in Victoria’s history. In terms of scale, March numbers for Midsumma Pride March is considerably larger than other annual march’s held in Victoria including Moomba or the Australia Day March.

Dykes on Bikes proceed the marching contingent as per tradition with the march itself led by Boon Wurrung Elders and a Rainbow Aboriginal Float along with the Premier of Victoria, Minister for Equality and the Creative Industries and Commissioner for Gender and Sexuality.

Hundreds of young people, often amongst the most vulnerable within our communities, are placed towards the front of the march as a positive and strong affirmation for LGBTIQA+ youth.

The Midsumma Pride March Awards encourage colourful and innovative contributions from March participants and is judged by selected members of the community.

At the conclusion of the march, attendees are led into Catani Gardens for celebrations and entertainment including DJs and live performances.

PACIFIQUE X / VIKA Inc is marching on behalf of the Rainbow Family of the Pacific Islands based in Melbourne, Victoria.

We have a limited amount of space for our marching contingent and it is important that we have a registration in order to keep track of numbers marching :)

Follow our FACEBOOK EVENT page for details.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No ID requirements, please just let us know about your details when you register, there may be limits on the day to younger (children) that may march, also, being mindful that usually the march happens during Melbourne's Summer - always make an informed decision based on your health and your ability to march - the priority is the safety of everyone marching.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Most years, Public Transport is recommended, there hasn't been a confirmed time for the march to begin, but we will keep details updated in our event page - as they will provide details on when Public Transport will cease (eg. Last year, the trams stopped operation from a certain time). There is parking, and a map will be provided once we receive this information.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

PM or an email

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, sure, just send us a PM for any changes or email

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

As it's free, no - but, due to us using the ticketing as a way to keep on top of numbers, would be great to let us know if you are not going to be marching (if you are aware beforehand) just so we can use that space for another person to march. We want as many to march as possible.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, that's totally fine.
