Event description
A series of Microsoft Excel workshops for all skill levels.

About this Event

Is the world of Excel an unpredictable territory, where spreadsheets never quite do what you’d like them to? These short, practical Microsoft Excel courses are designed with your schedule and needs in mind. You can either work your way through each one to improve your skills, or jump in at the level you believe you are ready for.

Cost: $75 for each workshop or enrol in all four and only pay for three.

1. Excel for absolute beginners - debunking the myths

Tuesday 31 March 6-8pm

The first course in a four-part series that will see you conquer your spread-sheet fears, and have you performing basic calculations, and formatting cells in no time! Learn how to navigate your way around Excel, insert auto-fill fields, create tables, manage wrapping/merging of cells, and know how to troubleshoot for continued use and learning.

2. Learning more tools with Excel - taking the next step

Tuesday 28 April 6-8pm

Continuing from our Microsoft Excel for Absolute Beginner’s course, or for those that already know some things in Excel, you will learn how to manage tables, inserting pictures, text boxes, page layouts (to fit to one page), linking data, creating a diary/planner and using absolute cell references. This is data visualisation for the more experienced, but at a comfortable pace.

3. Intermediate Excel - smart functions

Tuesday 26 May 6-8pm

Already having a good navigational understanding of Excel and how to use cells to create formulas, this short two-hour course will teach you how to use IF/THEN statements, creating drop boxes, mail merges, flow charts, reviewing the use of tables and creating a brochure or budget (group decision on the night). Now you will really be putting your new knowledge into practical application.

4. Advanced 'Intermediate' Excel - taking Excel to the next level

Tuesday 23 June 6-8pm

Pivot tables, V and H lookups, and conditional formatting. Although there is a world beyond this point with Excel using coding, these are some handy advanced tools that Excel can do which can help you and the person reading the document make sense of data.

Presenter: Clare Farley

Clare holds an Honours degree in Psychology from USC. She was introduced to Excel over 20 years ago and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with others. Clare believes it is important to know what the software can do first, then follow up with how to do it. She brings an everyday approach to learning that makes Excel accessible for everyone.
