Microbats at Twilight in Long Hollow Heathland
Fri. 21 October 2016, 7:15 pm – 8:45 pm AEDT
Cancelled due to weather forecast
UPDATE We've just learnt that 229 trees are to be removed nearby starting Monday, including 200 year old River Red Gums. An extra reason to come and look for microbats now.
Microbats are small, difficult to see insect eaters. They come out as the sun sets.
Join us at Long Hollow Heathland to learn about these helpful flying mammals. Wander around with us and our bat detector as the sun sets. The detector allows us to hear their ultrasonic calls. If you are really lucky, you might even be able to see them flying in the dark.
Both adults and students welcome.
