Event description
Join us for a night of discussion on the role of micro-finance in promoting financial inclusion in Australia and Indonesia.

About this Event

AIBC NSW, the Australia-Indonesia Centre, Monash University, and Haymarket HQ invite you to join us for a catered evening featuring a panel of distinguished speakers on the role of micro-finance in promoting financial inclusion in Australia and Indonesia, including Joy Webster (Microfinance Manager for NSW & ACT, Good Shepherd Microfinance) and Simon Lynch (Community Development and Indonesia Director for Opportunity International Australia). The panel will feature topical remarks from speakers, moderated by the Secretary of the NSW Chapter of the AIBC (Francisco Widjojo), followed by Q&A from audience members, and networking with Australia Award recipients.

In support of the Australia Awards Indonesia Short Term Award Program’s theme of “Financial Inclusion of Indonesian Women”, attendees at this event will include a delegation of 25 high profile Australia Award recipients from the Indonesian public sector who are conducting field work on thinking strategically about regulation and its impact on women in both Indonesia and Australia.

The venue, Haymarket HQ, is Australia’s first dedicated start-up hub with a strategic focus on Asia. Haymarket HQ’s mission is to be the hub where startups wanting to tap into Asia’s growing market can network, collaborate and make that first step into the region with greater utilisation of local skills, experiences and connections.
