This session will cover the treatment options available for hip bursitis and labral tears and the advances in technology of hip and knee management.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Discuss the pathology and treatment options for hip bursitis/gluteal
    tendon tears.

  • Discuss the diagnosis and treatment principals for labral tears/impingement/ early hip OA.

  • Identify the advantages of minimally invasive direct anterior (DAA) surgery for hip replacement and the role of robots in hip surgery.

  • Discuss the current role of arthroscopy in arthritis management.

  • Identify the role technology plays in knee replacement surgery.

  • Discuss the role of injections play in early hip and knee arthritis (cortisone,
    hyaluronate, PRP, stem cells).
