Event description

Description

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Technology Sydney is pleased to be hosting the annual conference for Higher Degree Research students from 23-24 November 2017.

The conference is open to students from across the Faculty, and will feature speakers from predominantly our PhD candidates with some presentations from Master's, Honours, and other HDR researchers.

This year, the conference will also host a keynote session and special events around the theme of Merging Worlds. This will include looking at the intersections between academic scholarship and other worlds of scholarly and critical endeavor, from the creative arts to public pedagogies to activist worlds.

Our keynote speakers include Dr. Catherine Robinson, an influential scholar on issues related to homelessness, including trauma, violence and mental health; and, Dr. Joanne Jakovich, who specialises in collaborative innovation and its application to urbanism ventures, higher education and urban planning.

All are welcome to join us - registrations are encouraged to assist with catering. If you have any dietry or access requirements please email us at mergingworlds2017@gmail.com.
