Igniting a Re-Enchantment with the Sacred
Pope Francis offers a suggestion in Laudato Si’ to embrace ecological conversion. He is convinced “that the rich heritage of Christian spirituality, the fruit of twenty centuries of personal and communal experience, has a precious contribution to make.” (216)
In this experiential retreat you will have the opportunity to listen deeply to Earth and each other. Laudato Si’ now into its 5th year still has much to teach us about Earth as our Mother, “that we are not disconnected from the rest of creatures, but joined in a splendid universal communion.” (220)
We will have time to explore the ‘precious contribution’ of Laudato Si ’in a relaxed way online.
You can choose to participate in the online retreat on either Thursday 11 or Thursday 25 June. The retreat will offer variety in the sessions with plenty of time included for your own reflection and contemplation.
Margie will include Earth centred meditation; rituals from her book Cosmic Sparks that can be done during the morning and on your own; time for mindfulness walking whilst keeping social distance; reflection on the Mercy Partners Laudato Si’ cards; an earth ritual online and time for sharing.
There will be poetry; music; YouTube clips and many moments of breath work using the Sufi purification breaths.
After you have registered you will be sent a copy of Cosmic Sparks: Igniting A Re-Enchantment with the Sacred by Margie Abbott rsm as well as an invitation to join the Online Retreat via Zoom. N.B. Please include an address for us to post the book to you (home or workplace).
