Event description
Designed for small business operators to hear about some easy steps to make your workplace more mentally healthy. Pay a ticket forward!

About this event

Join fellow small business operators for a relaxed evening of goodwill, information and experience sharing, and mutual support around how to create mentally healthy workplaces - for ourselves, our staff and our customers.

We were all under unusual amounts of stress last year. General mental health in our society and communities suffered. This was felt in many workplaces and it was difficult to maintain a positive environment.

At this event you will hear about how the team at Archive reached out for some much needed support and made some small but considered changes to help the owners, managers and staff feel safer in their workplace. Our panel of experts will share with you their top recommendations on simple, practical and cost effective strategies you can take to safeguard your mental health and mindfully facilitate a safe environment for your team. Hosted by Ingrid and Graham of Archive Wine Bar, you'll hear how they went about developing and implementing a mental health and wellbeing policy and support plan in their business.

You will come away from this event feeling more in control of how you can help your business feel safer for the mental health of not only your staff, but most importantly, for yourself.

Consider Paying it Forward and sharing the goodwill with someone you know or letting Archive provide the ticket to a deserving business operator in the Geelong area.

Your hosts and panelists

Ingrid and Graham Sutherland - Archive Wine Bar

Ingrid and Graham opened Archive in 2018 and the Geelong Wine School in January 2020. COVID-19 presented many challenges to the collective mental health of the team at Archive. Information sought about mental health in the workplace seemed to be more relevant to corporate environments than small teams and family owned businesses so they thought outside the square. Ingrid and Graham want to share their experience to help others overcome the barriers encountered to finding the right kind of support for this small business.

Nick McEwan-Hall - The Mental Health Coach

Tanya Heaney-Voogt - Wombarra Consulting

Derek Rogers - The Thrive Movement Australia

Derek is truly passionate about empowering and transforming people, teams, leaders, organisations and communities to be mentally and physically healthy, safe, happy and high performing, THRIVING! Through coaching and mentoring, Derek helps improve resilience and Mental Health and increases productivity and performance using strategies for stress management, mindfulness and meditation.

Alanna Barr - Yo-T Yoga

Alanna’s interests lie in supporting people with mental health or neurological challenges and the interconnected nature of body and mind for overall health from a scientific and psychospiritual perspective. Alanna created YO-T Yoga and Occupational Therapy in 2014, igniting a passion for enabling people to observe and explore the relationship of mind and body in not only their healthcare but day to day living.
