Mental Health Matters

City of Port Phillip is partnering with the Australia Red Cross to deliver free Mental Health Matters workshops for managers and supervisors of Port Phillip based community organisations.
Recognising the signs and symptoms of mental health and illness in the workplace and knowing how to provide support, benefits employees and can lead to a more productive organisation.
This strategic based workshop will help managers to develop a comprehensive action plan that provides early intervention and support to reduce the impact of mental health issues.
Topics will include:
What is mental illness
Consequences of mental health going untreated
Recognising and responding to signs of a person who may be at risk
Common mental illnesses - depression, anxiety and substance misuse, also covers psychosis
Understanding your role, support and the referral process
Principles of self-care
Case studies, action plans and group discussion
