Event description

Description

This Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course is being run for volunteers of not for profit organisations. It teaches people simple, practical first aid skills for helping a family member, friend, co-worker or other person who is experiencing mental health problems. MHFA courses will teach you how to listen and respond to someone with a mental health problem, even if they are experiencing a crisis. You’ll learn how to help someone to access the support they might need for the successful management of symptoms as part of their recovery journey.

The training means participants can become Mental Health First Aiders (subject to the completion of an online exam after the training) and their workplaces can be recognised through MHFA Skilled Workplace Program (mhfa.com.au/skilledworkplace for more information)

This is a two-day course and there is a maximum of 25 participants.

Catering will be provided.
