One in five adults is affected by a mental health issue each year. Does your workplace have a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) officer?
The workplace is where the early signs and symptoms of a developing mental health problem can first be noticed.
The MHFA program has been specifically designed for workplaces. This training leads to improved knowledge of mental illness, confidence and skills to help someone developing a mental health issue or in a mental health crisis, and reduces unhelpful stigmatising attitudes that can prevent people seeking help early. The skills learned in MHFA training are beneficial inside and outside the workplace.
This eLearning course is self-paced (approx. 6-8 hours) with individuals able to work through it in their own time.
Developing mental health problems covered:
- Anxiety problems
- Substance use problems
Mental health crises covered:
- Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
- Non-suicidal self-injury
- Panic attacks
- Traumatic events
- Severe psychotic states
- Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use
- Aggressive behaviours.
Participants can register, enrol and pay for this component via this link: https://mhfa.com.au/courses/elearning. MHFA will provide participants with a Standard MHFA Manual.
It is prerequisite of this course that all participants complete the online eLearning prior to attending face to face training.
Face to Face
