The Youth Affairs Council of WA, in partnership with the WA Association for Mental Health has been tracking proposed changes in relation to the Acute Response Team and Acute Community Intervention Team funded under Child and Adolescent Mental Health. There has been a lot of uncertainty as to the future of these services.
Please join us for a briefing, followed by Question and Answer opportunities with staff from Child and Adolescent Mental Health leading the re-design of these services.
The Acute Response Team (known as ART) provides a central telephone service on 1800 048 636 for children and young people with urgent mental health issues, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Acute Community Intervention Team provides an alternative to hospital-based care by managing high risk children and young people in the community for a limited period of time.
Further information about the services can be found here: http://www.pmh.health.wa.gov.au/general/CAMHS/acute.htm
