About this event

This workshop is about repairing, re-using and reducing. As a part of Fremantle’s Heritage Festival, Elly Sumner will be diving into “old school” mending techniques to give a longer life to your modern wardrobe. Bring in items of your wardrobe you would like help repairing or enjoy learning the specialized techniques on fabric provided. Elly will be focusing on darning, and visible stitch and patch techniques. She will also be teaching heritage practices for sewing fastenings like buttons and hooks and bars. All tools and information will be provided on the day and there will be demonstrations followed by assisted practice with a small morning tea break.
