Event description

Description

The Sydney University Graduate Choir 2018 season opens with a selection of Mendelssohn's best sacred choral music. His PSALM 42 features a great wealth of forms and styles, and he considered it "my best sacred piece". The monumental PSALM 144, set for an 8-part choir, is certainly one of his most impressive works. NICOLAI's large TE DEUM, notable for its expresive music and orchestral colour, completes this concert. Music director Christopher Bowen OAM leads the Choir, Orchestra and soloists Elke Hook (soprano), Keara Donohoe (mezzo-soprano), Joshua Oxley (tenor) and David Hidden (bass) in this first concert for 2018, promising to deliver a beautiful musical performance.
