About this event

Thank you for your interest in our Venepuncture Courses. The Pathology Foundation has delivered blood collection courses for more than 30 years with qualified Nurse Educators delivering our Venepuncture training to thousands of medical personnel and medical students across most universities in Australia.

We specialise in teaching each participant how to collect blood from the hidden vein - we refer to this technique as "blind-sighting the vein". Sister Leahy teaches in a straightforward manner with attention to detail and genuine encouragement for her students. Our courses have an excellent reputation that has assisted many participants in gaining blood collection jobs since its commencement.

The course fee is $495 per participant. Participants have the option of paying either the full enrolment fee, or paying a deposit fee with the remainder paid via direct deposit by the day before the course. A detailed manual and all materials and equipment are supplied.

Public training sessions in Melbourne are often conducted one-on-one and as such are shorter in duration. Sessions in Sydney are conducted in groups and run for twice the length of our standard session with lunch included.

Upon satisfactory completion of the course, participants are presented with a Certificate of Competence which outlines the subjects that have been taught during the session. The course is conducted in a friendly and easy to understand manner. We trust that you will enjoy the course and benefit from the knowledge and experience gained.

"My aim is to provide a learning environment that supports our students in achieving personal confidence in their blood collection skills" - Sister Lyn Leahy
