Treaty: Find out what it means, what’s happened so far and where to from here.
The Victorian Government is supporting work toward self-determination and treaty for Aboriginal people.
A treaty can empower Aboriginal communities to achieve long-term generational change and improved outcomes.
The first step is for the Victorian Aboriginal community to decide who should represent Aboriginal people in negotiations.
Aboriginal Victoria is facilitating twelve community consultations, across six regional and metropolitan locations throughout the state to inform and engage the Victorian Aboriginal community on the treaty process.
It’s an opportunity for Victorian Aboriginal people to have their say and share their view about who represents them in future treaty negotiations.
